2017 National Street Rod Association Nationals, Louisville



August 4, 2017 -- The National Street Rod Association is celebrating its 48th (23rd in Louisville) Annual Nationals at the Kentucky Exposition Center August 3, 4, 5, & 6. More than 10,000 classics, including vehicles from the '50s, '60s, and '70s, are expected to roll into Derby Town USA for this 4-day extravaganza, which includes autocross action, the much-anticipated drawing for a 1933 Ford Three-Window Coupe giveaway Street Rod, the Top Builders showcase, guest appearance by Chip Foose, and a Winner Circle awards presentation of the best cars at the Louisville event



Top Builders Showcase

For 11 years, the rodding's elite professional builders have been showcasing their skills at the NSRA Nationals. Here is where you'll see the best of the the best hod rods all together in one room. Each of these top-notch vehicles are spectacular in their own right. Here are just a few of the beautiful rods on display in the Grand Lobby and South Wing Lobbies A, B, and C.

Circle of Winners

On the last day of the show, members of the NSRA gathered in the Freedom Hall auditorium to recognize top cars from prior regional events, as well as the best cars of the National show in Louisville. The award winning vehicles, referred to as the “Circle of Winners” (46 in all), were positioned in a circular pattern in front of the auditorium audience. Here are a few of the elite cars from this year’s show.

Giveaway Car

The winner of a 1933 Ford 3-Window Coupe, built by Reisinger Customs, of Evansville, IN, was announced on Saturday. The lucky winner couldn't wait to get his hands on the keys.

Streetkahna - Autocross NSRA Style

The Streetkhana is a test of driver skill and ability to maneuver a course of cones in the shortest time possible. This course at the National consists of a combination of slaloms, a couple of tight hairpins, a couple of switchbacks, a sweeper, and some speed-grabbing straights. Here's some of the action on the track.

Shootout Video

There were 8 drivers competing in the 2017 NSRA Vendors Shootout. Ultimately, Chris Smith, driving a 1972 Corvette for Ridetech, took home the gold. Here's a video of him taking to the track, along with a victory burnout at the end.
